A global toy brand with a significant presence in the premium figurine category. Seasonal product lines demand packaging that delivers shelf impact, product protection, and consumer engagement at once, at commercially viable cost and within compressed go-to-market windows.
Our client faced a convergence of pressures its internal packaging development resources, already stretched across competing priorities, were not sized to absorb. Meeting seasonal demand across both the US and EU required a primary packaging solution that could be developed, sourced, and production-ready in a matter of weeks, not months. The design requirements made it harder still. The new primary pack had to be:

Shelf impact & dual-use design
Evaluated packaging geometries, structural configurations, and material options against both the retail-visibility brief and the dual-use play requirement. Formats that failed either test were eliminated early. The final design maximizes toy visibility at shelf and functions as a credible, child-friendly play item after purchase.

Design-for-manufacturing
Built for manufacturability from the start: low-complexity assembly, high line rates, and ease of use for the consumer. Cost-to-pack economics and consumer experience were treated as a single brief, reducing production cost without compromising the unboxing experience.

Local material sourcing
Leveraged local supplier relationships to source 100% recycled fiber-based materials on a timeline that matched the compressed window. Local sourcing cut supply-chain lead time and carbon footprint versus imported alternatives, and ensured materials were on hand when design decisions were finalized.

Flexible execution
Gave the client the agility to respond to seasonal demand shifts across the US and EU, including moving product in bulk and packing locally, reducing transportation and enabling faster response to in-season signals. This prevents stockouts in a category where a missed seasonal window cannot be reopened.

Future-state roadmap
Identified a roadmap opportunity to ship displays direct to customer rather than routing through intermediate handling. This recommendation, not yet implemented, offers further reductions in carbon footprint, cycle time, and total landed cost for future seasonal programs.

Truvant's contribution went well beyond sourcing and assembly: the team designed a dual-use format that did not previously exist, sourced sustainable materials on a compressed timeline, applied design-for-manufacturing thinking to protect cost-to-pack economics, and identified future-state improvements that compound across seasons.
